A missing registration can be extremely stressful—it’s an important document that you’ll want to replace quickly to avoid getting a ticket!
Luckily, the Wyoming Department of Transportation (DOT) allows you to replace your lost registration items with a straightforward process. Keep reading for steps and details!
Replace a WY Registration Card or Stickers
Download mac os x maverick. If you lose or damage your registration certificate or plate stickers, you’ll need to visit a county treasurer’s officein person to request a new one.
You’ll typically be asked to provide your:
- License plate number.
- Driver’s license.
- Vehicle identification number (VIN).
- Current registration card, if you’re replacing your decal.
- Damaged registration or stickers, if available.
- Payment for the:
- $4 duplicate registration fee.
AND/OR - $6 duplicate sticker fee.
- $4 duplicate registration fee.

Replace Wyoming License Plates
Getting duplicate license plates differs based on whether you have:
- Non-embossed plates.
OR - Embossed plates.
Duplicate Non-Embossed License Plates
You can obtain new WY license plates if yours have been lost, stolen, or damaged by mailing a request* to your county treasurer.
Depending on what type of plate you have currently, you may be able to replace your lost or damaged plate with either a duplicate plate, with identical numbers and design as your existing plate, or a new plate with new numbers. Details are below.

To mail your request for a new license place, include a:
- Completed Application for New or Duplicate License Plates (Form MV-405).
- Payment made out to “County Treasurer” for the applicable fee:
- $8 replacement license plate fee, for a new plate with new numbers.
OR - $30 duplicate license plate fee, which will have the same numbers and design as your previous plate.
- ONLY specialty, prestige, and preferred number series plates can be duplicated. Duplicates of lost or stolen license plates can ONLY be displayed AFTER the registration decal expires on the missing plate.
- $8 replacement license plate fee, for a new plate with new numbers.
Once you have these items, mail your form and payment to your county treasurer.
When you get your new plates, surrender your registration card and old plates (if available) to your county treasurer’s office.
*NOTE: If you prefer, you MAY be able to complete the process in person—but check with your local county treasurer’s office to make sure before your visit.
Duplicate Embossed WY Plates
You can replace your embossed Wyoming license plates by mailing an application and payment to the WY Department of Transportation.
In the envelope, include:
- A completed Application for Embossed Plates (Form MV-145).
- A copy of your registration.
- Payment for the $50 embossed plate fee, made payable to “WYDOT”.

It can take up to 12 weeks for WYDOT to process your application. Your plates will be mailed to the county treasurer’s office where your vehicle is registered—you’ll need to pick them up there.

Duplicate WY Registration Fees
Here’s a list of the fees that apply to replacement registration cards, license plates, or validation stickers in Wyoming:
- Registration: $4.
- Sticker: $6.

How to Get a Duplicate PA Registration
In order to be compliant with Pennsylvania law, you need to apply for a replacement registration as soon as possible. PennDOT allows you to replace your registration online or by mail.
If you want to apply in person, contact your local PennDOT office for information.
Replace Registration Online
When you replace your registration online, you’ll need to print your duplicate registration card on your own. You will NOT receive a card by mail, so make sure you have access to a printer before you begin the process.
To use Pennsylvania’s online vehicle services system, you will need your:
- Title number and plate number to log in.
- Car insurance information.
- Vehicle’s odometer reading.
- Driver’s licensenumber (if you need to change your address).
- Debit or credit card to pay the $6 replacement registration fee*.
- The fee is $2 if you are also replacing a registration plate.
Once you’ve provided all the necessary information and fees, you’ll be able to print your new PA registration card!
*NOTE: Your fee is waived:
- If you are ordering a duplicate registration card because you never received the original within 90 days of its issuance date.
- There is a printing error of your duplicate registration and you request another duplicate.
Replace Registration By Mail
To replace your Pennsylvania vehicle registration by mail, you’ll need to submit a:
- Completed Application for Duplicate Registration Card, Replacement of Registration Plate or Weight Class Sticker (Form MV-44).
- If your current address is different from that on your original registration, fill out the application’s change of address section AND a Self Certification for Proof Residency (Form MV-8) if your new address is out-of-state.
- Check or money order for the $6 replacement fee*, made payable to “The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.”
- The fee is $2 if you are also replacing a registration plate.

Avoiding Registration Penalties
If an officer pulls you over before you receive your duplicate registration, you can avoid penalties by providing EITHER:
- An affidavit stating that:
- The registration was lost or stolen within the last 20 days.
AND - You applied for a replacementwithin 48 hours of learning the registration card was missing.
- The registration was lost or stolen within the last 20 days.
- Provide a valid registration card to the arresting officer or issuing authority within 5 days of the violation.
